Description of System:
Susan Marro, LMT and William Wilde Zeitler, musician and glass armonica virtuoso, have joined forces to combine the healing effects of bodywork with the etheric sound of quartz crystal.
The glass armonica, unlike most musical instruments, produces sound in a "circular waveguide," pattern to which the body responds in a unique way. Invented by Benjamin Franklin in 1761, the design is simple but elegant. It consists of a set of graduated 'glass' bowls nested inside of each other. These lie on their side pierced through the center by a spindle. The ends of the spindle rest in a brass arm atop a wooden cabinet. The entire set of glasses spins while the musician plays it with wet fingers much as you would play the rim of a wine glass. The armonica has long been associated with the healing arts having been used by the likes of Mesmer (from whom we derived the term 'mesmerism') and Franklin himself. The name, often confused with 'harmonica', actually comes from the Italian
'armonia' meaning 'harmony'. While the original instrument was made out of glass William's armonica is made of quartz.
In the session William does more than merely 'play' the glass armonica. Rather, as he focuses in on the healing 'field' of the bodywork session he is able to step outside of 'ordinary mind' into a more fluid, receptive state. As a result, the vibratory, conductive nature of the quartz crystal instrument comes alive so that it seems less like William is 'playing music' than that the sound is being drawn down or is streaming in ? filling the space with a healing resonance. Each of us joins together sometimes leading sometimes following the intuited ebb and flow. The combined effect of the living music and the bodywork is a total sensory immersion creating a synergistic effect that goes beyond the benefit of either alone. Susan and William create an environment of deep respectfulness, nurturing and safety into which you can unfold and expand across the threshold of old limitations into whole new dimensions of healing potential.
